I grew up in Northern California with my head in a book and my feet in the sand. I dreamt of becoming a painter but the heady scent of libraries with their shelves full of books drew me into the world of storytelling. I love the New Adult genre, but any story about a love so desperately wrong and impossibly beautiful makes me swoon.

I now live in Southern Florida and while I don’t get to read as much as I like, I still bury my toes in the sand. If I’m not writing or fighting to contain the banana plantation in my backyard, you can find me spending time with my handsomely tattooed husband, my brilliantly practical son and a mischievous miniature boxer…
But Seriously?
Here are ten things you probably really want to know about me.
I grew up a faculty brat. I can swear like a sailor. I love men in uniform. I hate being told what to do. I can do your taxes (but don’t ask). The Bird Market in Hong Kong freaks me out. My favorite word is desperate…or dirty, or both—I can’t decide. I have a thing for muscle cars. But never reply on me for driving directions, ever. And I have a new book boyfriend every week—don’t tell my husband.

Moment in Time by Lisa Mondello
(Summer House, #1)
Publication date: June 26th 2015
Genres: New Adult, Romance

This summer isn’t about dying. It’s about living. Jenna Traynor has been given her life back. After two years of chemo and missing out on college life, she is in remission. Spending the summer working on Nantucket Island is a good place to start life again. Hot guys everywhere, fun times at the clubs, long walks on the beach and beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the ocean from her back porch. Living life again was the plan. And then she met Bobby…
On leave from the military, Bobby Callahan needs one thing: a quiet beach to run and train so his leg will get strong enough for him to return to his post. For the past three years the only thing that made him get out of bed was the military. He’d joined the service to get away from sympathetic eyes and worried faces. He didn’t count on meeting a girl like Jenna whose thirst for life made him break out of the walls he’d so carefully constructed around himself. And once he realized she had his heart, he knew he never wanted to let her go. And then fate stepped in…
This series is a New Adult College Romance series that contains sexual situations that are graphic and explicit and not intended for readers under 18 years old.

“Whoever it is that’s trying to reach you is—”
“It’s just my mother.  I’ll call her back.”  He’s still standing at the end of the porch.  “Why did you come here?”
“I wanted to make sure you were alright.”
“Why wouldn’t I be alright?”
“You’re not, are you?”
It wasn’t a question.  Was I really acting so different that a total stranger could already tell?  He couldn’t even see my face.  Not really.
I push myself out of the wicker chair and walk over to him.
“I want to go swimming.  Come swimming with me?”
“It’s a bit chilly tonight,” he says, but I’m already taking the porch steps down to the sand and then walking toward the water.  The sky has the last of its orange glow.  It’s not enough for me to see.  There is no moon in the sky yet.  That will come later.  Right now it’s just me and the water.
My mind registers what Bobby just said, but I’m not really listening.  Not now.  I pull my T-shirt over my head and drop it to the sand.  I turn to Bobby, revealing my naked chest, but he can’t see because of the darkness.
“It’ll feel good,” I say.  “I want to feel the cold.”
“Are you crazy?”
I slip out of my cut-off shorts and my thong and leave them next to the shirt on the beach.
“Jenna,” Bobby says.  “Wait.”
But I’m not listening.  I run naked down toward the surf.  I’ve never been skinny dipping.  I want to feel the surf crash against my bare skin.  All of it.  I want to feel it all.  Anything is better than feeling numb.
The text message from my mother creeps into my mind as my feet touch the wet sand and then the ocean water, which is far colder than I thought it would be.  I welcome the shocking temperature and run a little deeper into the water until a wave crashes against my thighs and knocks me off balance.
And then I feel his warm arms wrap around me, enveloping me in the heat of his body.  I can barely see Bobby, but I feel roughness of his wet blue jeans against my naked thighs.
“Let’s get back to the house.”
“I don’t want to,” I say.
“If you don’t get out of this water, I’m going to pick you up and carry you back to the house.”
I push at Bobby’s chest, trying to get him away from me.  “I want to swim.”
“Okay, then get your bathing suit on.  This is a public beach.  And while I’m sure no one can see you right now, I also know if you get caught here like this you’ll be thrown off the island.”
I stop fighting him, but then a wave pushes me against him.  Bobby wraps his arm around my waist.
“I thought Nantucket had nude beaches.”
“It does.  This isn’t one of them.”

Guest Post by Katrina Hart, author of Finding Destiny

When eighteen year old Alex’s little sister’s pony goes missing, he sets out to look for her and finds himself in a strange gypsy camp in the middle of a forest. The pony is being cared for by a young girl called Faith. When Alex accepts a drink from Faith’s grandmother, he wakes up later to find himself transported into 2038 to a technologically-advanced, very colourful world inhabited by humans and robots. Alex soon discovers that he is now twenty, married and has a magical little baby girl. A magic he only seems to notice. He soon finds out that he will have to defend his little girl from the half-breeds with everything he has. He travels back through the magic pages of books to try and save her before it is too late and she is lost from him forever.

Character techniques.
One of my favourite things about writing my novel was following Alex along with all the other characters and getting to know their quirks, their fears and what they felt most passionate about as well as hated. In the very early stages I learnt how to hot seat my characters by asking them lots of questions or having others ask them questions. As well as recording myself reading their answers which helped me get all their voices right in my mind. I found both techniques were  fun ways of developing my knowledge of all my characters very quickly while following their journey as well as gaining a better understanding of the way they talk and think.
My family often tell me I talk about my characters like any moment they will walk through our front door for a visit. I often wonder what would happen if Dragonstar burst through the door in his manner and introduced himself like this, "Dragonstar's my name, I'm the leader of the half-breeds and we will be obeyed. Them sad saps come to me with their deals. I'm only too happy to appease their plight, they can never win over me. I have bigger needs now. I live like an animal, but soon 'Quill City' will be mine. I will show those who try to stop me I might be old but I am no fool." Or  if Missy Talk A lot was to show up one day on the sofa. They would all run a mile I'm sure. I think for me spending so much time with my characters makes them all very real and special like friends from a whole new place.
On my own blog I even have some interviews with a few of my characters along with their images and diary entries from Missy Talk A lot. As while getting to know them I had a lot of things that I couldn't add to the novel itself.  I feel it's nice to be able to add some of that onto my blog for anyone who wants to read more about them before or after reading their story.

Author Bio..
My name is Katrina Hart but I was always called Katie. I live in the East of England with my family and Holly, Smokey my two cats as well as Jessie our dog, they are a nutty bunch but I love them all the same. I have always had a passion for reading. I could easily spend a whole lifetime engrossed in a good book. In my twenties I joined an online writing class, where I fell in love with writing my own stories. Since I started writing I have discovered a new love for quotes, a quote that really inspired was from Toni Morrison. Toni said  “If there’s a book you really want to read but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.” I came across this quote whilst I was studying, this is one of the many things that inspired me to begin my first novel. I always welcome anyone to visit my blog.

Book Blitz: Worth It by Linda Kage PLUS Giveaway

Worth It by Linda Kage
(Forbidden Men #6)
Publication date: August 25th 2015
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

I fell in love once.
It was amazing. She was amazing. Life was amazing.
I lived for each time I could see her, and nothing else mattered, not that our families were enemies, our time together was forbidden, or we had to meet in secret.
Our love could conquer all.
Until it didn’t.
So I was ripped away from the love of my life and shoved into hell, forced to continue without her.
It shattered me, broke the best parts of me, left me permanently damaged.
Or so I thought.
Years later, I swear history’s trying to repeat itself because she’s back in my life, and I’m just as drawn to her as I was before. But I’m older and wiser now, and I know she should stay away from a worthless piece of ex-con like me.
So, I will not let her in. I absolutely refuse to hurt her. I will keep her away.
Then again, sometimes risking your greatest fear to get to a smile makes everything worth it, and besides, I’m not sure I can resist her, anyway.
This is the story of how Felicity Bainbridge changed my life forever, starting one summer day long ago after I was forced to change a dirty diaper…
–Knox Parker

D’Ann Burrow once told her preschool teacher she wanted to be a witch when she grew up. That simple comment signaled the start of a life-long fondness of things that go bump in the night. As she grew older, she could most often be found with her nose buried in a book, and she was especially fond of the Nancy Drew series as well as anything by Christopher Pike or Stephen King.  Occasionally she’d take a trip to the world of the classics where The Scarlet Pimpernel and A Little Princess reigned among her favorites.  She’s lost count of the times she’s read Little Women.

Today, D’Ann enjoys the world of Supernatural, stories about guys with fangs, and she’s seldom met a disaster film she hasn’t liked.  When she grows up, she’d like to work at the Haunted Mansion. Until then, watching Ghost Hunters will have to count as research.

D’Ann writes about secrets people keep.  Even the bravest heroine or a guy with a heart of gold has a few skeletons in the closet they’d rather not share with the world. When those secrets get out, things get interesting.

A Texas native, she knows making great guacamole is an art form. As a theater mom, she’ll happily chat about Broadway musicals by the hour.  Molly and Lizzie, the family furry ones, are frequent stars of her Instagram account.

Guest Post by Brantwijn Serrah, author of Lotus Petals

Rhiannon Donovan, daughter to the vampire Queen, would rather die than be made a bride to a demon Lord. Aijyn, courtesan to the undead Daimyo of Kansai, can think of nothing more horrifying than his promise of eternal life.  In the halls of the Blood Lotus Temple, the two women struggle against the chains of their fate, and find a solace in each other that could mean freedom for them both... or might cost each of them their lives.

13 New Fun Facts About Lotus Petals

1. Rhiannon was born on a Sunday: December 13th, 1699. This makes her a Sagittarius.

2. Though she has spent most of her life in Austria and speaks German as her native language, Rhiannon is actually Welsh by descent. She was sent away by her mother at birth to be raised by the Viking, Solva.

3. Solva is both Rhiannon's bodyguard and her handler, since Rhiannon, as a kin-born vampire, is viewed as a liability to her mother's court.

4. Solva's surname is Grimms dottir, meaning "daughter of Grimr". In Norse etymology, "grimr" could mean "grim" but could also mean "mask" and was thought to sometimes refer to a type or helmet shielding the face. It
was also another name for Odin.

5. Nagisa, the daimyo's favorite courtesan,
was originally meant to be a maiko, or apprentice geisha, when the daimyo turned her. Historically speaking, however, the timing was off, and I had to change her to an odoriko dancing girl. The original story of the maiko was reborn in Once Bitten, a short story later published in an anthology of vampire erotica.

6. I originally wanted to give Aijyn blue eyes, to make her stand out more among the courtesans, but this seemed too similar to Sayuri, the lead in Memoirs of a Geisha. Nagisa, however, has hazel-green eyes, to heighten her snake-like character. She also wears striking amounts of green.

7. Designing Rhiannon's unique kimono was one of my favorite parts of writing the book.

8. Deleted scenes include an appearance by a succubus who performs for the entertainment of the daimyo and his guests, making Aijyn  jealous over Rhiannon's attentions, and a scene where Rhiannon sneaks away from
the temple to bring Aijyn a gift from a human village: a heavy bracelet of jade beads.

9. There is almost always water nearby in any erotic or romantic scene between Aijyn and Rhiannon: a tub of water, a river, a hot springs, or rain. In contrast, the climax of their story occurs in fire.

10. Aijyn considers herself meek and even cowardly, but she stands up to or defies every major vampire character at least once in the book, and more than the vampires dare stand up to each other.

11. The characters generally speak to one another using a common vampiric language, even Aijyn, who learned it to better serve her master.

12. Rhiannon has a labrys (double-headed axe) tattooed on her left shoulder blade. I got a similar version of that tattoo on my right ankle the day the book was originally published.

13. Rhiannon's gold kimono is decorated with tigers. This foreshadows elements of the second book in the series, Satin and Steel.

"Rhiannon-sama," she began again, well aware she might be broaching a subject Rhiannon would easily wish to avoid, even to the point of sending her attendant violently away.
"Hm?" the vampire murmured.
"Your bodyguard...she likes to see you in pain."
Rhiannon waited a long time before she answered.
"Perhaps I like pain, mortal."
Aijyn did not argue...but she had seen the expression on Rhiannon’s face when Sölva had tormented her.
"You must hide the scars from the daimyo," she chided gently. "And you cannot allow her to leave any more marks on you, if you do not wish to anger him."
"And if I do wish to anger him?"
"Do not be petulant," Aijyn scolded.
"Does he believe his bride will be untouched? That his kin-born bastard bride will not have experienced acts of the flesh? I am over half a century a living birth-child. Does he realize how most kin-born are meant to earn their keep in demon houses?"
"He expects you will be untouched for him," Aijyn said. "Whatever has gone before, now you are his. And Gohachiro is not a man to share his treasures."
"Doesn’t he like to use pain?" Rhiannon asked. She rolled over under Aijyn’s hands, lying on her side and reaching out to touch the scar she herself had left on the courtesan’s wrist. At the light caress of her finger, a delicious tingle of pleasure ignited under the skin, making Aijyn shiver as the vampire had a moment ago.
Rhiannon pulled Aijyn closer, and lowered herself over the wound to kiss it a second time. The warm arousal intensified, and Aijyn caught her breath as her body awoke to the sensation, nipples stiffening under the soft silk of her kimono.
"Here," Rhiannon whispered, reaching up to brush the dark strands of hair from Aijyn’s shoulder, revealing the tiny, neat scars of bites past. Scars that would never heal the way the vampire’s did, white little lines and half-moons, memories of Gohachiro’s affections.
"Doesn’t he give you pain…" Rhiannon said, following their contours with light but deliberate pressure.
"…so he may turn it into pleasure?"
"Rhiannon-sama…" Aijyn murmured vaguely. One hand had dropped into her lap; the other rested on the vampire’s warm, lean arm. Strange awareness filled her: the touch stirred up the first bloom of eagerness in her loins and the pit of her belly.
"Pain is what we are, courtesan. Pain, hunger, pleasure, death. We are the undead. I am just over half a century old, more than twice your age, and I have been Sölva’s for longer than you have been alive. There are scars you will never see, all over my body: the marks of her fangs, of her whip, the cut of her blade, the pierce of steel needles. And every one of them sings when she touches me, screams when she hurts me...and it is ecstasy."
Aijyn realized with some dread she had made a mistake. The vampire’s touch brushed against her, terribly light, terribly fleeting, but her voice...soft, beautiful, rich, like strong liquor.
Rhiannon’s hand came to rest on the back of Aijyn’s neck. She gently pulled the courtesan closer, resting forehead-to-forehead and searching deep into Aijyn’s wide, dark eyes.
"You do this for him, too?" she whispered. "You...perform anma for him? You touch his body with such delicate affection?"
"Yes," Aijyn whispered.
"And does it make him want to fuck?"
Before she could think better of it, Aijyn lifted up a hand and slapped her.
The strike was not a hard one. At least, to Rhiannon it would not have been hard. Aijyn’s palm stung as though she had struck it against solid rock, and she quickly pressed it in her other hand, hissing with pain.
Rhiannon did not strike back. She remained perfectly still, her expression unchanging. After a moment, once Aijyn had collected herself, the vampire leaned closer and pressed her mouth against Aijyn’s own.
"It makes me want to fuck," she said. Then she stood, one smooth, languid motion, and retreated to her coffin to at last submit to her daytime sleep.
